Amount: Earmark up to 150,000 PDEX for a future spend proposal post-crowdloan
Short Description: The Polkadex parachain lease secured in Auction #16 thanks to the original Polkadex crowdloan in 2022 ends April 9th, 2024. In order to maximize the project&rsquo;s chances to renew the lease and thus ensure operations remain unaffected, we are proposing an allocation of 150,000 PDEX to be used as rewards for a second crowdloan to go live before the start of Auction #62 on February 9th.
The current proposal does not request any funds but aims only to earmark up to 150,000 PDEX for future spending on crowdloan rewards. An actual request will be put forward once the crowdloan has ended, the lease has been renewed, and the final amount of PDEX rewards is determined. More details can be found below.

Background
In 2022, <a href="https://polkadex.medium.com/polkadex-has-secured-a-parachain-slot-a04513f2c913">Polkadex secured a parachain lease with the help of over 2,300 contributors who contributed nearly 1 million DOT</a>, a record within its auction batch. Throughout 2023, Polkadex began unlocking the utility of the parachain and began opening XCM channels with other parachains, laying a path for Polkadot token listings on Polkadex Orderbook. Polkadex is tied for the third most XCM connections to other parachains with 12 total bidirectional channels. Out of the 12 channels, 6 are fully operational, with over 1,030 cross-chain deposits and withdrawals in just the last few months enabled by XCM. In other words, thanks to the Polkadex parachain, users can seamlessly deposit, trade, and withdraw assets such as DOT, GLMR, ASTR, IBTC, USDT, and PHA on Polkadex Orderbook.
Polkadot 2.0
As Polkadex has connected to other parachains and extended support for their tokens, Polkadot has been working towards its 2.0 update which includes the highly anticipated Agile Coretime Allocation feature. In short, whereas Polkadot 1.0 only leases coretime on the Relay Chain for a fixed period of up to 24 months, Polkadot 2.0 will allow for greater flexibility in coretime allocation. A more flexible and customizable coretime allocation is better suited to Polkadex&rsquo;s relatively low need for overall coretime, since Polkadex only uses blockspace on the Relay Chain for Orderbook deposits from and withdrawals to other parachains via XCM.
While at first it seemed like Agile Coretime would be live before the expiration of the Polkadex parachain lease ending on April 9th 2024, it now seems like Polkadot 2.0 will take a little longer. In this scenario, the safest bet is to renew the Polkadex parachain lease in order to continue servicing Polkadot assets without interruption as well as expanding XCM connections to other parachains. In the meantime, by renewing its lease, Polkadex can safely wait for Polkadot 2.0 and can choose to migrate to utilizing Agile Coretime with minimal interruption once it becomes available.
Timeline
Having established the need to pursue a renewal of the parachain lease, it is important to also note the timeframe in which Polkadex must secure the new lease. The current lease expires on April 9th and there are 6 parachain slot auctions left until then:
<ul>
<li>Auction #61: Jan 28 - Feb 4</li>
<li>Auction #62: Feb 9 - Feb 16</li>
<li>Auction #63: Feb 21 - Feb 28</li>
<li>Auction #64: Mar 4 - Mar 11</li>
<li>Auction #65: Mar 16 - Mar 23</li>
<li>Auction #66: Mar 28 - Apr 4</li>
</ul>

In order to prevent interruptions to XCM transfers between Polkadex and other parachains, Polkadex must renew its lease by securing a win in one of the above auctions.

Rewards

<li>DOT incentivized cap: 50k</li>
<li>DOT Hard cap: 300k DOT PDEX/DOT</li>
<li>Reward Rate: 3 PDEX per DOT contributed</li>
<li>Total PDEX treasury request dedicated to crowdloan rewards: 150k PDEX</li>
</ul>

A few things to keep in mind:
<ol>
<li>The DOT incentive cap of 50k is the max amount of contributed DOT rewardable by PDEX. **Contributions after 50k DOT will not earn PDEX rewards. **</li>
<li>Every contribution up to the 50k incentivized DOT cap will receive 3 PDEX per DOT, regardless of the total amount of DOT contributed. This means that the 150k PDEX requested from the treasury for crowdloan rewards may not be used in their totality. If this is the case, any remaining PDEX will be returned to the treasury. So, for example, if we were to win with a 25k DOT total contribution, only 75k PDEX would be distributed in rewards, and the rest would be returned to the treasury. This is a departure from our original crowdloan's reward structure aimed at preventing unnecessary PDEX spending.</li>
</ol>

Timeline
<ul>
<li>Launch date: Before February 9th</li>
<li>Targeted Auctions: #62 - #66</li>
<li>Vesting: 100% linearly vested throughout the duration of the lease</li>
<li>Rewards release date: End of May 2024</li>
</ul>

We are targeting auctions #62 to #66, giving us 5 chances to get an auction win and secure a lease renewal. We are aiming to launch by February 9th latest, as that is the start date for auction #62. However, ideally we can go live before then in order to ramp up contributions and try to take the lead by the start of auction #62.
The distribution of rewards for this second crowdloan will be given extra priority, with a targeted distribution date at the end of May, a little over a month after the new lease would be set to start (on April 9th). The totality of the rewards will start linearly vesting alongside the duration of the lease.
Since this proposal only aims to receive approval for a future spend of up to 150,000 PDEX on crowdloan rewards, a second proposal with a request for the final amount of PDEX will be made once the crowdloan has ended and the parachain lease has been renewed. The final amount of PDEX will be calculated as follows:
Final amount of PDEX = 3x
Where x is the total number of DOT contributed to the crowdloan up to the 50,000 DOT incentive cap. The second proposal will request the final PDEX amount directly from the treasury to the rewards pallet, thus preventing any centralized entity from holding the funds, and making the whole process trustless and transparent.
**How to contribute **
The best contribution method will be directly through Polkadot.js/apps. However, users of Nova Wallet, SubWallet, and Talisman will be able to contribute directly from their wallet apps. Terms &amp; Conditions, along with other necessary disclaimers, will be published with the launch of the crowdloan campaign.

&nbsp;
Timeline
&nbsp;
Having established the need to pursue a renewal of the parachain lease, it is important to also note the timeframe in which Polkadex must secure the new lease. The current lease expires on April 9th and there are 6 parachain slot auctions left until then:
<ul>
<li>Auction #61: Jan 28 - Feb 4</li>
<li>Auction #62: Feb 9 - Feb 16</li>
<li>Auction #63: Feb 21 - Feb 28</li>
<li>Auction #64: Mar 4 - Mar 11</li>
<li>Auction #65: Mar 16 - Mar 23</li>
<li>Auction #66: Mar 28 - Apr 4</li>
</ul>
In order to prevent interruptions to XCM transfers between Polkadex and other parachains, Polkadex must renew its lease by securing a win in one of the above auctions.

So, for example, if we were to win with a 25k DOT total contribution, only 75k PDEX would be distributed in rewards, and the rest would be returned to the treasury.
&nbsp;
How to contribute
&nbsp;

An actual request will be put forward once the crowdloan has ended, the lease has been renewed, and the final amount of PDEX rewards is determined. More details can be found below.

### PDEX Rewards for Crowdloan #2 Treasury Proposal

**Amount**: Earmark up to 150,000 PDEX for a future spend proposal post-crowdloan

**Short Description**: The Polkadex parachain lease secured in Auction #16 thanks to the original Polkadex crowdloan in 2022 ends April 9th, 2024. In order to maximize the project’s chances to renew the lease and thus ensure operations remain unaffected, we are proposing an allocation of 150,000 PDEX to be used as rewards for a second crowdloan to go live before the start of Auction #62 on February 9th.

An actual request will be put forward once the crowdloan has ended, the lease has been renewed, and the final amount of PDEX rewards is determined. More details can be found below.

**Details**:
**Background**
In 2022, Polkadex secured a parachain lease with the help of over 2,300 contributors who contributed nearly 1 million DOT, a record within its auction batch. Throughout 2023, Polkadex began unlocking the utility of the parachain and began opening XCM channels with other parachains, laying a path for Polkadot token listings on Polkadex Orderbook. In other words, thanks to the Polkadex parachain, users can seamlessly deposit, trade, and withdraw assets such as DOT, GLMR, ASTR, IBTC, USDT, and PHA on Polkadex Orderbook.

**Polkadot 2.0**
As Polkadex has connected to other parachains and extended support for their tokens, Polkadot has been working towards its 2.0 update which includes the highly anticipated Agile Coretime Allocation feature. In short, whereas Polkadot 1.0 only leases coretime on the Relay Chain for a fixed period of up to 24 months, Polkadot 2.0 will allow for greater flexibility in coretime allocation. A more flexible and customizable coretime allocation is better suited to Polkadex’s relatively low need for overall coretime, since Polkadex only uses blockspace on the Relay Chain for Orderbook deposits from and withdrawals to other parachains via XCM.

**Timeline**
Having established the need to pursue a renewal of the parachain lease, it is important to also note the timeframe in which Polkadex must secure the new lease. The current lease expires on April 9th and there are 6 parachain slot auctions left until then:

Auction #61: Jan 28 - Feb 4
Auction #62: Feb 9 - Feb 16
Auction #63: Feb 21 - Feb 28
Auction #64: Mar 4 - Mar 11
Auction #65: Mar 16 - Mar 23
Auction #66: Mar 28 - Apr 4

In order to prevent interruptions to XCM transfers between Polkadex and other parachains, Polkadex must renew its lease by securing a win in one of the above auctions.

Crowdloan details
Rewards
DOT incentivized cap: 50k DOT
Hard cap: 300k DOT PDEX/DOT
Reward Rate: 3 PDEX per DOT contributed
Total PDEX treasury request dedicated to crowdloan rewards: 150k PDEX

A few things to keep in mind:
The DOT incentive cap of 50k is the max amount of contributed DOT rewardable by PDEX. Contributions after 50k DOT will not earn PDEX rewards.
Every contribution up to the 50k incentivized DOT cap will receive 3 PDEX per DOT, regardless of the total amount of DOT contributed. This is a departure from our original crowdloan's reward structure aimed at preventing unnecessary PDEX spending.

Timeline
Launch date: Before February 9th
Targeted Auctions: #62 - #66
Vesting: 100% linearly vested throughout the duration of the lease
Rewards release date: End of May 2024

We are targeting auctions #62 to #66, giving us 5 chances to get an auction win and secure a lease renewal. We are aiming to launch by February 9th latest, as that is the start date for auction #62. However, ideally we can go live before then in order to ramp up contributions and try to take the lead by the start of auction #62.

How to contribute
The best contribution method will be directly through Polkadot.js/apps. However, users of Nova Wallet, SubWallet, and Talisman will be able to contribute directly from their wallet apps.
Terms & Conditions, along with other necessary disclaimers, will be published with the launch of the crowdloan campaign.

**Amount

**: Earmark up to 150,000 PDEX for a future spend proposal post-crowdloan

**Short Description

**: The Polkadex parachain lease secured in Auction #16 thanks to the original Polkadex crowdloan in 2022 ends April 9th, 2024. In order to maximize the project’s chances to renew the lease and thus ensure operations remain unaffected, we are proposing an allocation of 150,000 PDEX to be used as rewards for a second crowdloan to go live before the start of Auction #62 on February 9th.

The current proposal does not request any funds but aims only to earmark up to 150,000 PDEX for future spending on crowdloan rewards. An actual request will be put forward once the crowdloan has ended, the lease has been renewed, and the final amount of PDEX rewards is determined. More details can be found below.&nbsp;

**Background

**

In 2022,

<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: Arial,sans-serif; background-font-weight: 400; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; -webkit-text-decoration-skip: none; text-decoration-skip-ink: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">¨NBSP;<a href="https://polkadex.medium.com/polkadex-has-secured-a-parachain-slot-a04513f2c913">Polkadex secured a parachain lease with the help of over 2,300 contributors who contributed nearly 1 million DOT</a>

, a record within its auction batch. Throughout 2023, Polkadex began unlocking the utility of the parachain and began opening XCM channels with other parachains, laying a path for Polkadot token listings on Polkadex Orderbook. Polkadex is tied for the third most XCM connections to other parachains with 12 total bidirectional channels. Out of the 12 channels, 6 are fully operational, with over 1,030 cross-chain deposits and withdrawals in just the last few months enabled by XCM. In other words, thanks to the Polkadex parachain, users can seamlessly deposit, trade, and withdraw assets such as DOT, GLMR, ASTR, IBTC, USDT, and PHA on Polkadex Orderbook.&nbsp;

**Polkadot 2.0

**

As Polkadex has connected to other parachains and extended support for their tokens, Polkadot has been working towards its 2.0 update which includes the highly anticipated Agile Coretime Allocation feature. In short, whereas Polkadot 1.0 only leases coretime on the Relay Chain for a fixed period of up to 24 months, Polkadot 2.0 will allow for greater flexibility in coretime allocation. A more flexible and customizable coretime allocation is better suited to Polkadex’s relatively low need for overall coretime, since Polkadex only uses blockspace on the Relay Chain for Orderbook deposits from and withdrawals to other parachains via XCM.&nbsp;

**Timeline

**

Having established the need to pursue a renewal of the parachain lease, it is important to also note the timeframe in which Polkadex must secure the new lease. The current lease expires on April 9th and there are 6 parachain slot auctions left until then:

Auction

#61: Jan 28 - Feb 4

Auction #62: Feb 9 - Feb 16

Auction #63: Feb 21 - Feb 28

Auction #64: Mar 4 - Mar 11

Auction #65: Mar 16 - Mar 23

Auction #66: Mar 28 - Apr 4

In order to prevent interruptions to XCM transfers between Polkadex and other parachains, Polkadex must renew its lease by securing a win in one of the above auctions.&nbsp;

**Crowdloan details&nbsp;

**

**Rewards

**

1. DOT incentivized cap: 50k DOT&nbsp;

2. Hard cap: 300k DOT PDEX/DOT&nbsp;

3. Reward Rate: 3 PDEX per DOT contributed&nbsp;

4. Total PDEX treasury request dedicated to crowdloan rewards: 150k PDEX&nbsp;

A few things to keep in mind:

1. The DOT incentive cap of 50k is the max amount of contributed DOT rewardable by PDEX.

 Contributions after 50k DOT will not earn PDEX rewards.

2. **Every contribution up to the 50k incentivized DOT cap will receive 3 PDEX per DOT

 **, regardless of the total amount of DOT contributed. This means that the 150k PDEX requested from the treasury for crowdloan rewards may not be used in their totality. If this is the case,

 any remaining PDEX will be returned to the treasury.

 So, for example, if we were to win with a 25k DOT total contribution, only 75k PDEX would be distributed in rewards, and the rest would be returned to the treasury. This is a departure from our original crowdloan's reward structure aimed at preventing unnecessary PDEX spending.

**Timeline

**

1. Launch date: Before February 9th

2. Targeted Auctions: #62 - #66

3. Vesting: 100% linearly vested throughout the duration of the lease

The distribution of rewards for this second crowdloan will be given extra priority, with a targeted distribution date at the end of May, a little over a month after the new lease would be set to start (on April 9th). The totality of the rewards will start linearly vesting alongside the duration of the lease.&nbsp;

Since this proposal only aims to receive approval for a

future

 spend of

up to

150,000 PDEX on crowdloan rewards, a second proposal with a request for the final amount of PDEX will be made once the crowdloan has ended and the parachain lease has been renewed. The final amount of PDEX will be calculated as follows:

Final amount of PDEX = 3x&nbsp;

**How to contribute

The best contribution method will be directly through Polkadot.js/apps. However, users of Nova Wallet, SubWallet, and Talisman will be able to contribute directly from their wallet apps.&nbsp;
